A Simple Wooden Path
It was a simple wooden path built over the rough terrain. There was something about it that spoke to me that day, as I walked with my sister-in-law through the bird sanctuary on Dauphin Island. The day was cold and cloudy, but we trudged around looking for birds and other interesting things for me to capture with my camera.
Only part of the trail was bridged over to make the path easier to navigate. It stood out starkly from the rest of the natural path, but it certainly made our hike go a little faster and a lot easier than walking across the uneven ground. Rustic beauty…and so I captured the memory through the view of my camera.
Paths are mentioned often in Scripture, and I am reminded that the steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord. Sometimes the path may not be as clearly defined as the direction this wooden path provided–or as easy to walk on– but nevertheless, the Lord is always in the business of leading His children where they should go. So no matter the circumstances of the path I’m walking, I trust that He will “continually guide me” as I faithfully place one foot in front of the other.
