Weekend Wildlife From the Front Porch
Tropical Storm Claudette happened this weekend. My area received drenching rain, but unlike other nearby cities, did not have destructive tornadic activity. In spite of the heavy rain, the birds and squirrels were still motivated to feed and I decided to sit on the front porch and capture some photos.
The wind and rain came in spurts, but the critters were seemingly oblivious to the weather as they munched on sunflower seeds and corn. Bird photography is always a lesson in patience. I settled in and waited for them to acclimate to my presence and essentially forget that I was close by. While I waited on the birds, the rain drops in the water puddles caught my attention, so I filled my waiting time by shooting the interesting patterns the drops formed in the puddles. Got some pretty cool shots, too!
Enjoy the photos, and remember, if in the middle of the storm God cares enough to care for the smaller creatures of earth, He certainly cares enough about you to do the same!
