A Mushroom by Any Other Name
With so much rain the last few days, mushrooms are cropping up in the yard. Their cute little umbrella tops sticking up out of the green of the grass are hard for a photographer’s eye to resist. So of course, I indulged–even laying down on the ground to get a good angle. I actually had two mushrooms to choose from during this shoot, but unfortunately during my setup, my dog (who can’t see very well these days) stumbled over the very one I wanted to capture and smashed it to smithereens. Oh well. At least I rescued the other before she could ruin my opportunity!

Almost Friday
I am so glad it’s almost Friday. This has been a particularly long week for me and the weekend beckons VERY invitingly for a chance to sleep in! My husband and I moved to south Alabama in mid-December 2011. We had lived almost a year in the Branson, Missouri area, but our time there came to an end and we were more than ready to move back home. A Day at Butterfly Palace!
Since moving to Branson, I’ve been wanting to go to the Butterfly Palace to see all the wonderful, beautiful butterflies they have. Today, Allan and I finally got to take time to do it. It was the season for Paper White butterflies, and there was an abundance of them flitting about. One of the best things about the excursion, though, was the live angel statue in the middle of the garden. She was awesome. Creativity
I’ve had some time down this weekend and just thought I’d check out Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. I have a good friend who loves this program and who actually gave a wonderful tutorial on it in his blog. Although Lightroom has never been my favorite tool (I have always used Camera Raw), Deric’s blog captured my attention and I just had to check things out. Maybe I’ll convert after using this for awhile…we’ll see. For now, tweaking this flower tree I shot during the spring is a good start. Keep posted and I’ll let you know how it goes!
