A Tribute to My Jessie
My heart hurts today. I’ve shed more tears than I have in awhile and as every memory sweeps over me the tears just flood again. Saying goodby to my Jessie girl was more difficult than I could have imagined. She’s been with me since she was four months old. She would have been eight years old this coming January, but her medical issues have continued to climb and finally reached a point where I couldn’t care for her. Between the seizures, all the medications, and even her blindness, she has been faithful to hold her own. When the blood test on her medications came back this past Saturday showing her in toxic levels and at risk for liver failure, I had to seriously consider…

She’s Not a Morning Kind of Girl
She’s a sleepy head. When the alarm goes off, she doesn’t even twitch a muscle. She MIGHT open one eye and peer at me to find out WHY I’m disturbing her so early in the morning–after all, it’s still very dark outside the window and why should anyone be up if the sun isn’t shining??? As I roll out of bed, I envy her being able to sleep in. I’m not a morning person either–and 5:30 AM comes a bit early for me. SHE gets to be lazy. SHE is living a good life, dog gone it! She’s my baby. I chose her when she was only 6 weeks old and got her when she was 8 weeks old. The choice I had to make between her and her siblings wasn’t difficult. She immediately hovered around my feet, growling in her puppy voice to warn the siblings to stay away. She claimed me, I guess, first and foremost. I have spoiled her, no doubt. She loves attention and affection and demands it on a second by second basis. She is persistent to a fault and never takes no for an answer. She is constantly in motion, circling clockwise and running…unless it’s first thing in the morning. Then, and only then, is she quiet and still as she snuggles beneath the bed…

Sleepy Head
I don’t have too much opportunity to capture photos of my baby Zoe as she is hardly ever still enough to catch really good shots of her. But this morning, as I was getting dressed for work, she was still in the sleepy head state and I was able to take a few photos before she crawled out from under the covers. Such a cutie pie…my baby girl…my sleepy head!
